Stitch Count - 159 H x 131 W
Model is stitched on 32-count Attic Lace hand-dyed fabric by Lakeside Linens.
Model is stitched with Gloriana 12-strand Silk (DMC equivalent provided).
#12 Rosewood (902) ~ 5 4-yard skeins (20 yards)
Floss estimation is for stitching as directed on 32-count fabric. DMC equivalent is only approximate, as there are no exact equivalents for hand-dyed fibers.
Entire design is stitched in cross-stitch.
Letters, borders, and geometric squares are all cross stitch over-two linen threads using two strands of silk.
All motifs are all cross stitch over-one linen thread using one strand of silk.
I encourage you to use floss and fabric colors that match your personality and style.
About the design: For each letter of the alphabet there is a small motif square and a large geometric square. The large geometric square contains the letter of the alphabet "hidden" at least four times. For example: the letter “A” has a small motif square containing an apple and a large geometric square with the letter “A” hidden four times.
To design your own inscription sampler:
1. Choose a word – for example: first name, last name, or “welcome”
2. Stitch the squares containing the letters of your word.
Each individual rectangle has a stitch count of 21w x 31h.
Special Instructions:
For the letter “I” ~ place your initials in the motif box.
For the letter “Y” ~ place the year in the motif box.
For the letter “N” ~ tack a small needle in the motif box (I used a John James Gold Tapestry Petite Size 28 ~ JG19928).
Each rectangle is the perfect size for a scissor fob, needlebook, ornament, or magnet.
