Stitch counts:

Framed Calendar Backboard – 279 H x 252 W
Each Calendar Piece - 27H x 28W

Model is stitched on 40-count Sugared Ginger hand-dyed fabric from Lakeside Linens.

CALENDAR PIECES: You will need one piece of linen for the front and one piece of linen for the back of each piece (35 days - total 70 pieces). Layout diagram enclosed. I used 1” between each piece to have an adequate finishing allowance (443H X 404W – 8 pieces wide x 9 piece high – 1” seam allowance – 1” between each piece). You may want to add additional inches for a larger seam allowance. NOTE: If using 40 count fabric, a Stitcher’s Half (approximately 27”W x 36”H) will be enough to stitch the entire calendar (including pieces) and a handful of feather tree ornaments.

Model is stitched with Weeks Dye Works cotton floss (DMC equivalent provided).

Bright Leaf (435) - 1 skein
Curry (3820) - 1 skein
Dolphin (169) - 1 skein
Havana (610) - 1 skein
Mascara (310) - 6 skeins
Peoria Purple (333) - 1 skein
Pumpkin (721) - 3 skeins
Scuppernong (3347) - 1 skein
Terra Cotta (921) - 1 skein
Snowflake (B5200) - 1 skein

Floss estimation is for stitching the calendar backboard and all 35 pieces as directed on 40-count linen. DMC equivalents are only approximate, as there are no exact equivalents for hand over-dyed fibers.

Package contains charts for the calendar backboard and all pieces, along with complete finishing instructions.

I encourage you to use floss and fabric colors that match your personality and style.

Stitches:

Cross Stitch over two linen threads
Back Stitch
French or colonial knots (minimal)

Finishing Supplies:

35 Hook & Eyes - Black - Size 2 (round eyes) (Model uses Dritz ~ item 90-2-1 ~ 5 packages - this brand and others can be found easily at craft/hobby/fabric stores)

Skirtex or cotton batting

Basic sewing supplies and iron

Kreinik Custom Corder (mini drill) for twisted cord, if making feather tree ornaments.

Other Ideas:

• Use the daily motifs for feather tree ornaments

• Personalize one of the blank tiles with your initials and the year

• Put your own unique words or names on the tombstones.

• Instead of framing, finish as a banner or quilted wall hanging.
